Lady in a Cage (1964) dir. Walter Grauman. A rich handicapped woman ( Olivia DeHaviland) becomes imprisoned in her own elevator during a power black out. Violent hoodlums, A Wino and an old prostitute steal her good while she is trapped. Way a head of it’s time in terms of violence and cruelty. Film was inspired by What happened to Baby Jane and was part of the “Hag-Horror genre”. Years later similar films were produced on a lower budget only replace older women in peril with buxom cuties and then entered the “Roughies” phase.
